Industry News:

Check Out The Latest HHA Acquisitions Nationwide

Market consolidation continues in the home health arena.

In Kentucky: National chain LHC Inc. Has acquired “substantially all of the assets of The Visiting Nurses Association of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Inc.’s Kentucky home health operations,” the Lafayette, La.-based chain says in a release.

Together with the previously announced acquisition of Nurses Registry and Home Health Corp. (see Eli’s HCW, Vol. XXIV, No. 40), the acquired locations cover 19 counties in the state and have combined annual revenue of about $7.6 million, LHC says.

In North Carolina: Well Care Home Health Inc. based in Wilmington is buying Davie County’s home health agency for $1.8 million, reports the Winston-Salem Journal. Declining reimbursement rates made the agency unprofitable, county officials said.

With the robust marketplace, it was time for the county to get out of the home health business, officials decided.

In California: Sutter Health’s home care division has acquired Salinas-based Alliance Home Health, reports the Sacramento Business Journal. Sutter Care at Home formed a partnership with Santa Clara County-based Hospice of the Valley earlier this year, the newspaper notes.
