Check Out 2 Wage Index Corrections For 2012

You might need to double-check your wage index that takes effect Jan. 1. CMS has issued corrections to the index value for two areas. "We are correcting the wage index values for Core-Based Statistical Area (CBSA) 12060 (Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, GA) and for CBSA 26980 (Iowa City, IA)," CMS notes on its website. "For CY 2012, the wage index for CBSA 12060 should be 0.9575 and the wage index forCBSA 26980 should be 1.0070." Incorrect wage indices were published in the 2012 PPS final rule, which was included in the Nov. 4 Federal Register at www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2011-11-04/pdf/2011-28416.pdf.
