Don’t forget the importance of praise.
Looking for a low-cost way to motivate your employees? Focus on communication.
As a supervisor, the things you say have a great impact on how your team members feel about their workplace, their team and their work, says Jim Pancero, author of Leading Your Sales Team. Here are two suggestions that can help you increase team members’ work enjoyment and enhance their selfesteem:
1. “In meetings, make some positive statements about each team member,” Pancero says. “Keep your comments sincere, factual and relevant to each employee’s job performance.”
2. “Each time you talk to a team member, make an accurate and positive statement about how that person is doing in his work,” Pancero adds.
Your positivity and appreciation for the work your employees do will help them to feel positive about their roles.
