Get Ready To Pay The Price For Date Of Death Billing Errors.

The Recovery Audit Contractor for the New England and Mid-Atlantic states has a new durable medical equipment topic for review. Region A RAC Diversified Collection Services, based in Livermore, Calif., received approval from CMS for "Date of Death - DME," it says. DCS is the RAC for Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The topic joins about two dozen other DME topics already approved by CMS for the four RACs.
