Document Patient Transfer Efforts Like This, RHHI Says

If you're wondering how to prove that you looked up a beneficiary in the Health Insurance Query for HHAs (HIQH) on the Common Working File to check home health status, refer to Palmetto GBA's new job aid on home health transfers. Do this: You should print out page 3 on HIQH and date stamp it, Palmetto instructs. If not, you risk having your claims overturned in favor of the HHA on record. More information about how to deal with home health transfers, including in cases of dispute, is in the aid on Palmetto's website.
