TURN HERE FOR EXTRA NPI HELP

You can get answers to your questions about the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' National Provider Identifier contingency plan by checking the Frequently Asked Questions section on the CMS NPI Web site, at www.cms.hhs.gov/NationalProvIdentStand (click on NPI Question Resources).

Providers may contact the NPI enumerator directly (1-800-465-3203), but only to check on the following specific concerns, CMS said in a May 10 Open Door Forum:

• Status of an NPI application
• Forgotten or lost NPI
• Lost NPI notification letter
• Trouble accessing NPPES
• Forgotten password or user ID
• Request a paper application
• Clarification on information required on a paper application
