Check Employees Against OIG Exclusions Database, Or You May Regret It

Don’t let accidentally hiring an excluded individual cost you $40K, like one Minnesota home care services provider.

Last month, Bridges Aid Services in Roseville entered into a $40,153 settlement agreement with HHS Office of Inspector General to resolve allegations that BAS employed an individual who was excluded from participating in any Federal health care program.

“OIG’s investigation revealed that the excluded individual, a direct support professional, provided items or services that were billed to Federal health care programs,” the agency says on its Civil Money Penalty Enforcement Actions webpage.
