Hospices Get Ready To Put HOPE To The Test
Plus: New Hospice Compare data is up. Hospices planning to field test the new Medicare assessment tool will get more details about that testing March 5. A webinar from Hospice Outcomes & Patient Evaluation (HOPE) contractor Abt Associates will address HOPE testing details such as who is eligible to participate in the alpha test, alpha test requirements and support from the Abt HOPE Testing team, and “selection of hospices to participate,” the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services says on its HOPE webpage at www.cms.gov/Medicare/Quality-Initiatives-Patient-Assessment-Instruments/Hospice-Quality-Reporting/HOPE. The webinar is for hospices participating in the field test, a CMS official said in the Feb.26 Open Door Forum for home care and hospice providers.
