Acquisitions Heat Up In HHA Market

• Other home care companies have been busy on the acquisition trail as well.
Long-term care company Kindred Health-care's subsidiaries plan to purchase Signature Health Services in Ohio. Signature operates 10 home care locations primarily in the central and northeastern regions of Ohio, Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred says in a release. Kindred already furnishes hospice services in the state and has 11 long-term care facilities in Signature's operating area. Signature has about $13.4 million in revenues.
"We are excited to continue our growth into the home care business," Kindred CEO Paul Diaz says. "This transaction provides us with a great opportunity to expand our home health operations."
And: Accurate Home Care in Elk River, Minn. has purchased A Plus Home Health Care with locations in Moline and Peoria, Ill. With the acquisition, Accurate Home Care will now serve about 630 clients in three states with about 1,500 field staff and 51 office staff, reports The Quad City Times newspaper.
