Organizations across a myriad of industries suffered from increases in cyberattacks last year. A recent advisory warning looks at the vulnerabilities that allowed hackers to infiltrate systems. Details: Cybersecurity agencies in the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom released a collaborative report outlining “the top 15 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) routinely exploited by malicious cyber actors in 2021, as well as other CVEs frequently exploited,” according to a joint Cybersecurity Advisory. In the report, agencies, including the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), evaluated the malicious activity of cyber actors and how they “aggressively targeted newly disclosed critical software vulnerabilities against broad target sets, including public and private sector organizations worldwide,” the advisory says. Check out the key findings and the list of 15 vulnerabilities the agencies identified at www.cisa.gov/uscert/ncas/alerts/ aa22-117a.
