If you’re filing an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) request, expect the amount that remains in controversy to rise on Jan. 1. Currently, the amount in controversy (AIC) stands at $160 for ALJ requests and will go up to $170 in 2020, according to a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) notice. For reviews requested in the federal district court, the AIC will increase from $1,630 this year to $1,670 in 2020.
