NCCI Rolls Out New Bundled Codes

Check the chart to the right to find the National Correct Coding Initiative's new comprehensive and component gastroenterology-related codes. This quarter's edits took effect July 1.
 
Use this quick key for easy access to the latest changes involving codes such as 45335 (Sigmoidoscopy, flexible; with directed submucosal injection[s], any substance) and 45340 (Sigmoidoscopy, flexible; with dilation by balloon, 1 or more strictures). *Status indicator 0 means the procedure may never be unbundled, regardless of the circumstances that present. Status indicator 1 means the procedures may be unbundled using modifier -59 (Distinct procedural service), but only when the circumstances merit using this modifier.
