ICD-10 Delayed Another Year

As of Tuesday, April 1, President Obama signed the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 (H.R. 4302) bill into law. The law requires the federal government to delay the adoption of ICD-10-CM/PCS for at least one year. Therefore, you won’t have to start using ICD-10 on Oct. 1, 2014 as planned. But experts warn that you shouldn’t stop preparing. Stay tuned: Watch for an in-depth article on the change and what it means to your practice in the next issue of E/M Coding Alert.
