Next year, you’ll find many more options for dermatitis due to solar radiation.
When ICD-10 comes into effect on Oct. 1, 2015, you’ll just have to know one new code to replace each of the current ICD-9 diagnosis codes for the three degrees of sunburn. However, you’ll have quite a few new options when it comes to other solar radiation-related disorders.
In the “Other acute skin changes due to ultraviolet radiation” category (L56.-), ICD-10 will introduce specific does for conditions including drug phototoxic response, solar urticaria and polymorphous light eruption.
