Question: I'm worried I'm missing chances to report wall motion. When should I report +78478? Delaware Subscriber Answer: Code +78478 (Myocardial perfusion study with wall motion, qualitative or quantitative study [list separately in addition to code for primary procedure]) represents the actual assessment of watching the ventricle contract and relax, so you should report +78478 when your cardiologist evaluates left ventricle motion. Terms demonstrating wall motion include the obvious -- "wall motion" -- as well as "hypokinesia," "dyskinesia," and "akinesia." Respect the '+': You should use add-on code +78478 with myocardial perfusion imaging codes (78460-78465).
