Question: The cardiologist placed a stent in the right coronary artery. He then performed an atherectomy of a different lesion in the right coronary artery and balloon angioplasty of the right coronary artery. Which code should we report?

Answer: You'll report code 92933 (Percutaneous transluminal coronary atherectomy, with intracoronary stent, with coronary angioplasty when performed; single major coronary artery or branch), which covers all three procedures.
Important: Make sure you attach modifier RC (Right coronary artery) to 92933 to identify the vessel as the right coronary artery.
