Reader Question :

Find Flush and Runoff in 75630

Question: Can the cardiologist perform flush aortogaphy and abdominal runoff from the same catheter position?Kentucky Subscriber Answer: Yes. And 75630 (Aortography, abdominal plus bilateral iliofemoral lower extremity, catheter, by serialography, radiological supervision and interpretation) includes both services. You may see this procedure called "abdominal with runoff" because the cardiologist performs both (1) an abdominal aortogram and (2) the runoff to view the downstream vessels.Don't let the 75630 term "serialography" confuse you. Serialography refers to taking radiographic images in rapid sequence. It allows for the study of high-speed phenomena, such as blood flowing through an artery. You may see this called multiple rapid sequence imaging, as well.
