Question: Will we be able to report +92978 with the new coronary revascularization codes? Oregon Subscriber Answer: Yes. An instructional note with +92978 (Intravascular ultrasound [coronary vessel or graft] during diagnostic evaluation and/or therapeutic intervention including imaging supervision, interpretation and report; initial vessel [List separately in addition to code for primary procedure]) adds the following new codes for coronary revascularization services as acceptable primary codes: 92920 (angioplasty), 92924 (atherectomy), 92928 (stent), 92933 (atherectomy with stent), 92937 (graft revascularization), 92941 (revascularization during acute myocardial infarction), and 92943 (revascularization of chronic total occlusion).
