Vaginal Deliveries Call for 01967 -- Usually

Question: In what delivery situation would 01960 be the appropriate code to bill? Kentucky Subscriber Answer: If there is a reason your anesthesiologist is providing anesthesia for a vaginal delivery that is not 01967 (Neuraxial labor analgesia/anesthesia for planned vaginal delivery [this includes any repeat subarachnoid needle placement and drug injection and/or any necessary replacement of an epidural catheter during labor]), then use 01960 (Anesthesia for vaginal delivery only).
