Question: Is it appropriate to bill 76000 (fluoroscopy [separate procedure], up to one hour physician time, other than 71023 or 71034 [eg, cardiac fluoroscopy]) for fluoroscopic guidance with 62273* (injection, epidural, of blood or clot patch)?

Answer: Code 76005 (fluoroscopic guidance and localization of needle or catheter tip for spine or paraspinous diagnostic or therapeutic injection procedures, including neurolytic agent destruction) should be used with 62273* if fluoroscopic guidance is done. This code includes epidural, transforaminal epidural, subrachnoid, paravertebral facet joint, paraverteebral facet joint nerve or sacroiliac joint injections.
