Question: Our reproductive endocrinology practice has a problem when coding for cycle management. Isn't there a specific code for this?

Answer: No, unfortunately there is no specific code for cycle management. Some practices simply choose not to charge for this service. Others have found that they can use 99499 (Unlisted evaluation and management service) to get payment from some carriers. However, many times 99499 does not get reimbursed.
Your practice may want to consider informing patients up-front that you will charge them a cycle management fee. Also, some programs assess the cost for cycle management and then build it in to the cost of the other infertility services being provided.
