Lamon Willis

Lamon Willis is Healthcare Solutions Director for AAPC Audit Services. He provides expertise in billing, coding, auditing, revenue cycle management for hospitals and physician practices, and expert witness testimony for healthcare legal cases. Willis has more than 25 years of experience in hospital and physician revenue cycle, practice management, compliance, coding, billing, process improvement, client services, sales support, and strategic product and solution development. He was previously the Director of Coding for Velocity Healthcare Collaborative, a joint venture of Navicent Health and Houston Healthcare prior to the Navicent/Atrium merger, in which he oversaw inpatient and outpatient coding operations for both organizations. Willis has also worked as VP of Patient Financial Services in a hand-and-foot surgery hospital in Florida, as well as manager and compliance liaison with a national emergency physician practice management organization overseeing coding operations of 150 coders. He previously provided healthcare consulting and solution services to hospitals and physician organizations nationwide through such companies as St. Anthony Consulting, Ingenix, OptumInsight, Optum360, 3M Health Information Systems, and Craneware, Inc. Willis is a speaker at national and regional AAPC, AHIMA, HFMA, and SAAS-based company conferences, addressing a wide variety of healthcare industry topics, and has also been an editor for ICD10Monitor.com, for which he provided coding and billing insight.
